Troubleshooting VXN Error 13:
- From the home screen press the tools icon in the upper right hand corner
- Press Settings
- Press Credit
- Press Clear DID
- Default password is 990712
- Run a transaction to update to the new DID.
Loading Paper
- Locate the paper bay at the top of the terminal.
- Open up the paper bay by pulling the black latch up.
- Grab your new roll of paper.
- Place paper roll into the paper bay ensuring shiny side up and facing away from the terminal screen.
- Make sure excess paper hangs outside of the paper bay.
- Close the paper bay.
- Remove any excess paper.
Completing a transaction:
- Select Sale.
- Enter the sale amount.
- Press green enter key.
- If you accept tips at your business, the terminal will prompt you to enter a tip amount or press Cancel (X) to skip.
- The terminal will prompt you to present payment.
- If payment is present, swipe the customer’s card now. For an EMV chip card, insert it into the slot at the bottom of the terminal, or tap a contactless card or phone.
- If payment is not present, key in the customer’s card information.
- Choose Credit or Debit.
- The payment will process.
- A receipt will print out of the top of the terminal.
- To print a customer copy, select Yes.
Issuing a Refund
- Select Other.
- Select Refund.
- Enter the refund amount.
- Press green enter key.
- The terminal will prompt you to present payment.
- If payment is present, swipe the customer’s card now. If it’s an EMV chip card, insert it at the bottom of the terminal.
- If the payment is not present, key enter in the customer’s credit card information.
- Choose Credit or Debit.
- The terminal will process the refund.
- A receipt will print out confirming the refund.
- To print a customer copy, select Yes.
Printing a Batch Summary
- On the main screen, select Other.
- Select Report.
- Select Batch Totals.
- Select Print Report.
- A receipt will print breaking down all the transactions on the terminal.
Closing a Batch
- Select Other on the main screen.
- Select Close Batch.
- The terminal will process the batch.
- The terminal will print out a receipt to confirm your settlement.
- The batch is now closed.
Adjusting Tips
- Select Other.
- Select Enter Tips.
- The terminal will prompt you to enter the transaction sequence number from the receipt.
- Find sequence number on the receipt and enter into terminal.
- Press the green enter key.
- The terminal screen will show the transaction you are looking for.
- If the transaction is correct, press Edit Tip.
- Enter the tip amount.
- Press green enter button.
- The terminal will process the tip amount.
Void a Transaction
- Select Other.
- Select Void.
- The terminal will prompt you to enter the transaction sequence number from the receipt.
- Locate the sequence number on the receipt and enter it in.
- Press the green enter key.
- The terminal screen will show the transaction you’d like to void.
- If the correct transaction, select OK.
- The terminal will perform the void.
- A receipt confirming the voided transaction will print.
Set up Terminal
- Turn over the terminal.
- Pull the latch in the middle of the terminal to release plastic backing.
- If you have a pin-pad, install that first.
- Take the pin-pad’s USB cord and insert into the port labeled with a black USB symbol.
- Next, plug in the communication type (phone line or ethernet).
- If you’re using ethernet, plug the ethernet cord into the port labeled with three yellow boxes.
- If you’re using a phone line, plug the phone line into the port labeled with a blue phone.
- Finally, plug the black power cord into the port in the side located in the middle of the terminal.
- The terminal will activate. You’ll know it’s on when the terminal screen says Loading.
Change Date and Time
- Touch the orange tools icon in the top right-hand corner of the touch screen
- Touch date/time.
- Key in new date in MMDDYYYY format – for example October 28th, 2020 would be 10282020
- Press Enter
- Enter the current time in military time (ex: 2:30pm would be 143000)
- Press Enter
- Press the red cancel key until you are back on the home screen to see the updated date and time
