Changing the Date/Time on Your Credit Card Terminal

Clover® Point-of-Sale Devices

All Clover® Point-of-Sale devices have the ability to auto update when the ‘Daylight Time’ option of your specific time zone is selected within the time/date settings. To see what time zone your device is set to follow the steps below:

  1. Select the ‘Settings’ Icon from the home screen
  2. Scroll down and touch ‘System’
  3. Click ‘Date&Time’

If the timezone says ‘Standard Time’, your device will not automatically update and you will need to login to the Clover Dashboard in order to update.

From the Clover Dashboard:

  1. Go to Account & Setup
  2. Click About your Business
  3. Click Business Information
  4. Select the proper timezone with ‘Daylight’ in the name
  5. Click Save.

  1. Touch the orange tools icon in the top right-hand corner of the touch screen
  2. Touch date/time.
  3. Key in new date in MMDDYYYY format – for example October 28th, 2020 would be 10282020
  4. Press Enter
  5. Enter the current time in military time (ex: 2:30pm would be 143000)
  6. Press Enter
  7. Press the red cancel key until you are back on the home screen to see the updated date and time

Vx520

  1. From the Sale/Refund/Void screen, press the green ENTER button
  2. Press the F2 button to the right of ‘SETUP’
  3. Enter in the password, 1 alpha alpha 66831 ENTER  (the alpha key can be found right above the number ‘2’
  4. Scroll down by selecting the first purple key from the left key until you see ‘Date/ Time’, then press the button next to ‘Date/Time’
  5. Enter the date using the format shown on the screen, then press ENTER (ex: October 28th, 2020 would be 10282020)
  6. Enter the current time in military time, then press ENTER (ex: 2:30pm would be 143000)
  7. Press the red key twice to return to the sale screen – you should see the new date and time reflected on this screen

PAX A80

The PAX A80 has the ability to auto update when the ‘Daylight Time’ option of your specific time zone is selected within the time/date settings. If the timezone says ‘Standard Time’, your device will not automatically update and you will need to follow the instructions below to edit the time.

Instructions to manually update the date and time:

  1. Exit out of the Omaha app by pressing the red key, then press “ok” when asked to exit current application
  2. Tap on the settings app (looks like a grey gear)
  3. Scroll down and tap on Date & Time
  4. Tap on Set Time
  5. Drag the line on the clock to the correct hour, then release. Then drag the minute hand to the proper minute and then release, then tap OK
  6. Press the red key twice to get back to the app screen, then tap the Omaha app to return to the usual payment screen
  7. The new time should be reflected in the very top right corner of the screen

PAX A920

The PAX A920 has the ability to auto update when the ‘Daylight Time’ option of your specific time zone is selected within the time/date settings. If the timezone says ‘Standard Time’, your device will not automatically update and you will need to follow the instructions below to edit the time.

Instructions to manually update the date and time:

  1. Exit out of the Omaha app by pressing the circle ‘home’ icon, then press “ok” when asked to exit current application
  2. Tap on the settings app (looks like a grey gear)
  3. Scroll down and tap on Date & Time
  4. Tap on Set Time
  5. Toggle off ‘Automatic date & time’
  6. Drag the line on the clock to the correct hour, then release. Then drag the minute hand to the proper minute and then release, then tap OK
  7. Press the circle ‘home’ icon to get back to the app screen, then tap the Omaha app to return to the usual payment screen
  8. The new time should be reflected in the very top right corner of the screen

PAX S300

  1. Hold down the blue function button while simultaneously pressing the 1 button.
  2. The terminal will prompt you to enter in the password.
  3. Enter the password.
  4. Press green enter key.
  5. To get to the system’s settings menu, press the down arrow key on the screen.
  6. Select System Settings.
  7. Select Date/Time Setup.
  8. Enter in today’s date.
  9. Press green enter key.
  10. Enter in the time.
  11. Press green enter key.
  12. To get back to the main screen, select Menu.

PAX S80

View Date/Time Change Document

  1. Tap “Menu” on the key pad.
  2. Enter the current password and press ENTER.
  3. From the main menu, press “5” for System Settings.
  4. Press “1” for Date/Time Setup.
  5. Verify the date is correct. If not, type in the cur-rent date. Then press ENTER.
  6. Verify the time is correct. If time is not correct, type in the current time in 24-hour (military time) HHMMSS format*. For example, if it’s 11:19 PM, enter the time as 23:19:00. Then press ENTER.
  7. Once everything has been updated, continue pressing the red “X” button on the keypad until the Main Menu appears.

*To make a correction, press the yellow backspace button.
