Before doing anything at Gravity, we first ask ourselves “why?” This simple question helped shape our company and our values. Knowing our “why” helps us find purpose-driven people who aren’t just clocking in and out, but are instead driven by a mission.

Employee Mini Interview

Cary C.

How long have you been with Gravity Payments, and what do you do here?

2,270+ days. Started at Gravity in the HR department, for about 5 years. During that time I cross-trained into our Support team for 6 months. Then, I’ve found my way to the Accounting team. Now, I’m responsible for giving our money away (jk): I handle payroll, accounts payable, and various projects. I’m also eager to hop in on anything else.

What is your favorite thing about working at Gravity Payments?

My favorite thing is that I have been able to carve out my career however I choose and be the CEO of it. During my tenure here, I’ve been able to work in three different departments, manage people and departments, work with an innovative CEO and team, and spend time off traveling. I love my work and my job because it’s what I’ve created. Oh, I also met my husband at Gravity. That was pretty neat, I guess.

What Gravity client do you think everyone should visit?

If you’re in the Seattle area, we just had Jai Thai cater lunch for us, and I highly recommend their Crispy Garlic Chicken or Crispy Garlic Tofu if you’re vegetarian. I’d happily swim in that sauce. Also, if you haven’t heard, Dick’s Drive-In takes credit cards now! It’s amazing and dangerous.

Gravity was awarded #10 in Seattle Business magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For!

“Everyone – regardless of pay or tenure or title — has equal opportunity and responsibility to make strategic decisions and be a CEO,” says one employee. And they do. One customer service employee made a $100,000 decision without consulting anyone, says Price proudly. Others have also made six- and seven-figure decisions.
