I left college (where I met Steffan!) with a degree in graphic and web design right as we hit the recession in 2008. After the Seattle-required stint as a barista, I found myself in a number of sales positions; everything from paint and flooring to Volkswagens. A good friend recommended me to a position at Verity as a personal banker for what would be their newest branch (conveniently located on the same block as my apartment). I’ve spent the last 4.5 years getting to know more and more folks in my community, organizing fundraisers for a local charity, serving on the board of Washington’s first coop brewery, and advocating for my members to strengthen their financial lives.
When I’m not at work, I spend the bulk of my time cooking, reading, playing games, working with leather, painting, harassing my cats, and traveling to baseball stadiums with my mom (we’re up to 8 so far).
Working at Verity was a real game-changer for me. It opened my eyes to the importance of working for a values-driven organization, and making sure that I’m aligned with the company and their motives. I am thrilled to be coming on board with Gravity!
I can’t wait to start building strong relationships with both clients and coworkers! One tremendously fulfilling part of my current role is being a resource to others and helping them solve problems and strengthen where they’re at, and I fully intend to do exactly that for my teammates and the merchants I’ll be managing. I’m always trying to be a better listener so I can understand others’ views, wants, and needs more quickly and clearly. Please don’t hesitate to give me any advice or tips you think would help – the more I know, the more confident I can be tackling new projects!
