I grew up on a sugar beet farm on the outskirts of Caldwell, Idaho, spending a lot of my time outside exploring, chasing down snakes, lizards, and frogs, and playing in the dirt. When I wasn’t outside, you could probably find me in my room, building spaceships and robots with my and my brother’s giant LEGO collection. As I grew older, I discovered the world of video games, and spent much of my time with Mario, Link, and a whole bunch of Terrorist/Counter Terrorist (Counter-Strike: Source).
After finishing high school, I began my college education at Boise State University. I started out pursuing an electrical engineering degree, but decided it wasn’t for me after taking (and failing) my first real EE class. I had however, taken a computer programming class prior to that and found it really interesting, so I decided to switch directions and major in computer science.
Since graduating college, I’ve had a lot of big changes in my life. I’ve worked as a software engineer at a couple small companies. I met a beautiful lady, who went on to become my wife. We bought our first house in Kuna (it’s really not as far out there as people say), and had two wonderful, funny, and at times very naughty daughters.
I love my job, solving problems and fixing things through engineering/programming, and although I don’t have as much time to do so, I still like to get back to my roots and play the occasional video game after the girls are in bed for the night (usually older titles that I always wanted to play, but never got around to), and I have a pet ball python (named Cinderella, by my eldest daughter). I also enjoy spending time out in the mountains camping, fishing, and hunting, and spend a lot of my time volunteering and helping out in children’s/youth programs at my church. All in all, I’ve had a very blessed life, and am always excited to see what’s coming next.
